The RMIT Community Advocacy Unit is holding a screening of Australia's Pacific Solution on Thursday 19 December, 6pm, at the Kaleide Theatre, 360 Swanston St. The film is actually a doco made for the ABC's Four Corners but which the ABC decided not to screen. It deals with the detention camps in Nauru, and is said to have been well received in Europe. The film-maker, Kate Durham, will be in attendance and will give a talk on the camps. Gold coin donation for entry, and the money goes towards phone cards for people in detention in Baxter.
Fleur and I are intending on going, so let us know if you want to meet up.
