more license plates i've seen

Over the weekend it was all a bit black, what with DETHRO and DECIM8, but yesterday sank back into more hedonistic pursuits, with a mere SYKRYD.

I don't know if it's related, but I had a dream last night of some really old (think early 80's) computers that still somehow played really good music whilst running some old game or other, but I couldn't look at them for long because I had to get on my motorbike (!) to go to a barbeque at Darren's place. Or something like that. It seemed to be a nice, summery Saturday afternoon and I remember dropping my helmet on the front lawn, and smelling the grass as I bent down to pick it up.

My current favourite is GOD-355. It belongs to a Citroen DS. Some translation is in order. In French, the letters are pronounced "day esse", a neat contraction of "deesse", goddess. The DS was meant to represent the divine in motoring - and comes pretty close in my view. So this plate is pretty cool, given it's an original black and white and comes well before all the 31337 computer h4xxors got on to the number/letter replacement kick. I've seen GOD-355 in North Carlton and Fitzroy. Anyone ever seen a J35u5?

There's a family I believe to be called Akkem at the top end of Burke Rd, just before it crosses the Eastern Freeway. MAKKEM is an old white BMW 5 series. HAKKEM is a new BMW. Sadly, no sight of WAKKEM, BAKKEM or FAKKEM.

SYKRYD is my number plate. Wanted to get CMERUN, which was available when inquired but wasn't when requested. Like anyone cares... =)

Nice. Just yesterday, sitting on the bus on the way home from more weekend work, I saw a car with "AAARGH".
