I worked from the early morning light until it went down again, typing in a couple of black windows on a silver computer in a white study alcove in the North. Every now and then I'd pop my head out the window to check on the state of the world, but nothing much changed beside the position of the Sun. The coffee shop guy said "have a good one, uh?" as he always does, and that was the sum of my interaction with the world. I gave my entire day to work and it was blissfully free of interruption by phone, e-mail and people fronting up to my desk to ask if I could drop everything for them. I guess it can't last.
